Location: 79 Maple St, Summit, NJ 07901
When: October 24, 2012
Time: 7:00 pm–8:30 pm

Cancer Exercise Specialist Carol Michaels will present a program for women with a history of cancer, free of charge, on October 24th, at Pathways, a program of The Connection for Women and Families.

Most survivors have thought about starting or renewing an exercise regimen once they complete treatment.  This program is sure to jump start the class, and Carol promises to ease any intimidation or guilt from participants.

She will facilitate an informal discussion about the importance of exercise, including when to begin, what exercises one should do and not do, and how often.  There will be a Q&A period followed by a demonstration of how to perform helpful rehabilitative exercises.

Have fun, get motivated and meet others who are just starting out or resuming exercise after treatment!  Carol was selected by Life Fitness and The American Council on Exercise as one of “America’s Top Personal Trainers to Watch.”  Most recently she was recognized by PFP (Personal Fitness Professional Magazine) as the 2012 Trainer of the Year! Carol has worked closely with the medical community to educate physicians, nurses, social workers and patients on the important connection between exercise and successful recovery from cancer.  She has more than 16 years of experience as a fitness professional and has brought her program to Pathways and 2 major medical centers.  She is on the advisory board for the organization Living Beyond Breast Cancer.

To register, call Michele Visco, Pathways Director at 908-273-4242 or stop by 79 Maple St. Summit.
