The American Yoga Academy's Event to Benefit Kula for Karma

The American Yoga Academy will be hosting an evening of cocktails, celebration and inspiration to benefit Kula for Karma.

The event will be held on May 9, 2013 at the beautiful Wilshire Grand Hotel in West Orange, NJ from 6:30pm – 9:30pm.
 
The event boasts six raffle drawings throughout the evening for attendees with an array of fantastic prizes! Two grand prize winners have that chance to take home an American Yoga Academy Teacher Training session (worth $2,900) or a Seduction of Spirit Seminar from Chopra Center (worth $2,775).  Other prizes include a gift basket filled with a candle, a DVD, and three class passes (worth $75), a three month class pass (worth $285), a one year class pass (worth $900), and a private yoga and meditation lesson with Claire Diab herself from American Yoga Academy (worth $295).

Kula for Karma will also be selling CD’s and yoga mats. One hundred percent of all proceeds will go to Kula for Karma. Suggested donation per attendee is $25.00. Ticket donations can be made here at www.kulaforkarma.org/events.

Kula for Karma is a nonprofit organization that provides therapeutic yoga, meditation, and stress management services to those who have been challenged. Currently, Kula runsover 70 therapeutic programs incorporating yoga, meditation, and stress management.  Kula continues to grow through dedication from talented volunteers and yoga instructors to non-yoga “techies.”

This summer, Arts Guild New Jersey will again present our popular Summer Art Workshop Series for Kids (7-11) & Teens (12-16). For our on-line catalog and to register go to www.agnj.org

From July 15 to August 9 AGNJ presents four weeks of week-long workshops for CHILDREN in  different art areas: DRAWING, PAINTING, SCULPTURE, ART STORY, and CARTOONING.. Each week there will be four workshops. Each workshop will run for 1½ hours per day for five days. The fee for each one-week class for children (ages 7-11) is $65.

For TEENS we offer 2 weeks of five-day classes in MANGA CARTOONING, PAINTING, and SCULPTURE.  Each class is two hours daily. The fee for each one-week class for teens (ages 12-16) is $75.

WEEK #1:      July 15 - July 19      Classes for Kids

WEEK #2:      July 22 - July 26      Classes for Kids/Teens

WEEK #3:      July 29 - Aug. 2      Classes for Kids/Teens

WEEK #4:      Aug. 5 - Aug. 9      Classes for Kids

All art supplies are provided by Arts Guild NJ for these sessions. Classes meet sequentially throughout the day so students can be registered for as many workshops in one week and for as many weeks as you choose to do. We try to keep the enrollment for each workshop at a maximum of 12 students to insure that the children receive personalized attention from our very talented and qualified instructors so please register early.

NJ Company Making Teens Safer Drivers

Drive Safer offers a focused car control course that teaches drivers how to control their vehicles in the face of real world situations. The programs are designed to be safe, educational and fun.

The course consists of a classroom session including tech education, followed by the experiential driving course that features four “behind the wheel” exercises (Braking, Slalom, Skidpad and Hazard Avoidance) with certified high-performance driving instructors in a safe, controlled environment.

The Drive Safer Program is for participants who are:

  • At least 16 years old
  • Currently driving on a learner’s permit (or have a driver’s license)
  • Have completed their 6-hour behind the wheel course
  • There is no maximum age limit and adults are encouraged to participate as well

Students leave with a greater respect for their vehicles and for their capabilities as a driver. Parents of students leave with a sense of confidence and security that they have provided their child an unparalleled experience under the supervision of respected professionals.

The inaugural Drive Safer event will be held on Sunday, May 19th at MetLife Stadium (Parking Lot E). (For more information, please visit the Drive Safer website.) For every high school student that registers for the May 19th event, 12% of the course fee will be given to their school’s fundraising budget.

Morris Museum's Blues, Brews & BBQ
