Its a great chance to see the sport that was started in Maplewood, and is now played at hundreds of colleges and around the world. The all-day tournament in So. Orange will feature 6 boys teams from NJ and PA.
Your middle schooler/elementary schooler may already have had an Ultimate unit in physical education, or will surely get there one day; show your child what its really like to play.

Winter Golf Camp

Keep your game sharp this winter by joining TGA Premier Junior Golf’s New Jersey’s Top 100 PGA Golf Instructor, Mark Yannotta, for an action-packed winter golf camp. Golfers will be working at the Driving range where all golf activities are held.

TGA Premier Junior Golf camps are golf-intensive and create the ideal environment for the middle school and high school player ready to take their game to the next level. Golfers will hear firsthand the importance of goal setting, time management, and hard work will be stressed as these are key elements to attaining success in golf and life.

The atmosphere is focused and driven to place emphasis squarely on improvement. All aspects of golf, both mental and physical, are addressed throughout the camp. In addition to video swing analysis, golf fitness, and nutrition, Golfers will partake in discussions on match play, tournament preparation, dream-building, and high school and college golf. This program is coed, and designed for high school and tournament-level players, ages 12 - 18.

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week.

• Small group instruction with low student:teacher ratio of approximately 6:1
• Three hours of daily instruction along with simulated course play
• Sports psychology, golf fitness, and dream-building clinics

Farms View Donating Portion of Sales to Injured Officer

Farms View will donate 25 percent of all sales on Wednesday, Nov. 28 to officer Bob Franco and his family.

The farm will be open extended hours, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., that day.

Customers can choose from a variety of seasonal items, including Christmas trees and wreaths.

The farm stand is the latest business to assist Franco and his family since he suffered a severe spinal cord injury during Hurricane Sandy. A tree fell on the vehicle he was in at Fire Company 5, pinning him inside. It took emergency workers an hour to extract him from the vehicle.

Franco was in surgery for six hours after the accident and kept immobilized for sometime thereafter.

Franco is now walking a little bit and has regained some motion in his shoulders and arms.

Local businesses, organizations, and individuals have designed a series of charitable activities to help Franco and his family.

Wayne UNICO is selling poinsettias until Dec. 7 and donating a portion of the proceeds.

Fairway Market donated a percentage of sales Nov. 15 to Franco and his family. The Wayne PBA Local 136 has set up a donation account online through PayPal.

Two Wayne residents ran a marathon to raise money for Franco. They were slated to run in the New York City marathon but since it was cancelled, they decided to run a marathon around Packanack Lake to raise money for Franco and his family.

Coastal Sports NJ is pleased to announce the Kick Back to Give Back Soccer Tournament to benefit those affected by Hurricane Sandy on Friday December 7. The tournament is open to youth in grades 5-8 on Friday, December 7th at Coastal Sports NJ, 22 Madison Road, Fairfield, NJ from 6pm-10pm.

Coastal sports NJ will be hosting 5 v 5 indoor soccer tournaments. Each team should consist of five players. Cost per team is $125. 100% of all proceeds will be donated in support of those who were affected by Hurricane Sandy. 100% of all proceeds from this event will be donated to HABITAT FOR HUMANITY-Disaster Response Fund.

In addition to the soccer component, Coastal Sports NJ will host a collection for items needed by organizations to help with relief efforts that can be brought to the tournaments. Currently, the greatest need is for warm clothing. Please bring coats and other winter clothing items along with you on the day of the tournament.
