On Saturday morning, December 11, at 9:00 AM, there will be a special session of Temple B'nai Abraham's Parashat HaShavuah group. It will feature guest lecturer Professor David N. Myers, Chair of History Department at The University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA.), the first Jewish historian to chair a history department at a major American university. His many books and articles have received wide scholarly acclaim. (This special Parashat HaShavuah session may extend past Shabbat Morning services' start time of 10:00 AM).
The TBA Adult Learning Parashat HaShavuah group, led by Rabbi Clifford Kulwin, is free and open to the community. Join the weekly, lively discussion of legend and lore, the ancient world and the modern one, the Jewish people's feelings about its God, and God's feelings about His people. Through the reading of the weekly Torah portion, and occasional forays into the traditional commentators, we seek not only to understand the profundities of Torah, but also to understand the world and ourselves a little better. Parallel English/Hebrew texts are used.
Jewish teens and their families are invited to a great, free event to help them connect to amazing summer opportunities at our Teen Summer Opportunities Expo on December 14th at 7:30 at the Aidekman Campus, 901 Rt. 10, Whippany, New Jersey .They will be informed about a wide array of summer programs-locally, across the US, in Israel and around the world. The public can visit each site at their own pace. The houses will be exquisitely decorated for the holidays and be open for public viewing. Each site will offer something unique, including musical entertainment, refreshments or educational programs. There may be an admission fee at some of the locations.
ALL shoppers who mention Seth Boyden School at check-out while shopping at Sparkhouse Kids Toys in South Orange on December 21 will help raise funds for our PTA! Ten percent of the receipt total will given to school for future PTA events and activities.
Please tell all your local friends and family to help support our school on this special holiday shopping day. You do not have to be a Seth Boyden family to participate.
You can also help further by volunteering 1-2 hours as a "free wrapper" at the store on December 21. All shoppers receive wrapping serviced for their purchases, with "wrapping donations" given to the Seth Boyden PTA. Come hang out with other SB parents and share your holiday spirit of giving!

Our annual Holiday party open house at the South Orange Public Library is a big THANK YOU from FOSOPL to all the wonderful supporters from this past year. For 79 years Essex Water Color Club artists have been meeting to share ideas, to discuss water color techniques and to exhibit their work. We invite you to join us at our next meeting on December 12th at 2pm, where Beverly Golembeski will do a demonstration.

The Masterwork Chorus performs Handel's Messiah
Share the joy of Handel's Messiah with The Masterwork Chorus and Orchestra on Tuesday, December 14 at 7:30 pm at the Community Theatre at Mayo Center for the Performing Arts in Morristown and on Sunday, December 19 at 2 pm at Carnegie Hall.
