JUNIOR LEAGUE PLANS LITTLE BLACK DRESS

FUN-DRAISING EVENT

AREA- February 5, 2012- The Junior League of the Oranges and Short Hills, Inc. (JLOSH), with generous support from local sponsors, is planning a Little Black Dress event – a women’s night out of fun, fashion and fundraising at the Hilton Short Hills on Friday, March 2, 2012.

Event sponsors to-date includes Arlene and Thomas Gonnella of Weichert Realty, Lois Schneider Realty, Summit Medical Group, Barnabas Health and Shop Rite of Springfield. JLOSH is extremely grateful for their support, and is actively seeking additional contributions for the event.

Over 200 friends of the League are expected to attend the event. The fun-filled evening will include music, hors d'oeuvres, a luxury tricky tray auction, a big-win raffle and a fashion show. Proceeds from Little Black Dress will support the Junior League’s mission in our local communities.

“Today, nearly 20% of children in Essex County live below the federal poverty level. Families are increasingly relying on school meal programs and food stamps to provide basic nutritional needs,” states JLOSH President Katherine Eklund. “The Junior League is committed to developing trained volunteers and making a difference in the lives of women and children in these communities. This is our first year hosting Little Black Dress, and it’s already shaping up to be a wonderful evening that will benefit local women and children.”

Every year, JLOSH members work together to tackle critical needs of women and children in our area. JLOSH provides service to the communities of East Orange, Orange, South Orange, West Orange, Livingston, Maplewood, Millburn, Short Hills and Springfield. Founded in 1913, JLOSH reaches out to women of all races, religions and national origins. Its purpose is purely educational and charitable. To learn more about JLOSH, visit our website at www.JLOSH.org or visit us on Facebook.

Little Black Dress queries and contributions should be directed to Gail Davis at 973-379-9655 or jlosh1913@gmail.com.
