Listen to the Rhythm of Creation

June 25-29, 9am - 2pm

This summer, we will inaugurate a new camp for children that has a specific focus on music andthe arts! The theme for this year will be "Listen to the Rhythm of Creation" and will include musicfrom around the globe that explores the wonderment of all God has created. Classes will include,choir, Orff instrumental ensembles, art, movement and handbells.The camp will be held daily from 9:00am until 2:00pm and costs $150. Fees are non-refundable and are the same whether your child participates for the whole week or any part of it.

The retreat will be led by Dianne M. Traflet, J.D., S.T.D., Assistant Dean, Assistant Professor of Pastoral Theology and Founder and Co-Director of the Institute for Christian Spirituality, Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology at Seton Hall University.

The retreat will be held in the Chancellor's Suite on the ground floor of the Bishop Dougherty University Center at Seton Hall University.

4th annual India Fest

Sanskriti of NJ (formerly Asian Indians of Livingston) will be hosting their 4th annual India Fest on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17th, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the West Essex YMCA in Livingston (rain date June 24th). 

The Fest is an annual tradition in Livingston and offers a variety of cultural programming as well as shopping for Indian clothes and arts. Taste the many flavors of Indian cuisine at the food stalls that will be hosted by some fine local restaurants.  There will be fun games and crafts for children. 

Sanskriti has also planned a colorful and entertaining cultural program lasting five hours that will begin at noon to showcase the rich and diverse dance and musical styles of India. The day will be made extra special with a raffle for all the Father’s attending.  Prizes will include restaurant certificates, golf gift packages, and gift baskets.

Maplewood, NJ - This art exhibit is a collaboration with artist and curator ELIZABETH CAROL WINCHESTER and ROBERT CENEDELLA, artist and educator at The Art Students League of New York, and will present artwork created by fourteen selected students from Mr. Cenedella’s painting class. The exhibit will be on view June 11 through July 28, 2012, with an Artist Reception scheduled for Saturday June 16th, from 5pm to 9pm.

As part of GAS Gallery And Studio’s “EMERGING ARTISTS” program, this exhibit is designed to showcase the work of talented artists who may have not yet exhibited in a modern gallery setting and provide them with real world exhibit experience while introducing their work to a contemporary and new  audience of art lovers and art critics alike.

Featured artists include: Akiko Asanuma, Robert Dickerson, Renee Fineberg, Wendy Lax, Val Mannino, Lucas Melo, Fred Mendelsohn, Ursula Mur, Yuri Ohara, Yasuaki Okamoto, Aleksandar Pilipovic, Gil Podorson, Jeff Tocci, Elizabeth Carol Winchester and Robert Cenedella.
