Bariatric Support Group

At Barnabas Health, we offer monthly specialized support groups for patients who have had bariatric surgery. Each Support Group offers additional educational and networking opportunities for participants.

To assure that sessions offer the highest value to patients, Support Group sessions address a broad spectrum of issues that help meet the challenges of long-term lifestyle changes. They are led by professionals (Registered Dietitian, Registered Nurse, Exercise Physiologist., or Licensed Psychologists) who are especially experienced with the challenges of obesity. Past topics have included:

• healthy cooking
• stress management
• exercise guidelines
• Yoga, Zumba demonstrations
• coping skills
• behavior modification
• improving quality of diet
• supplement taste testing
• tips for dining out
• body image changes
