Learning Your Way - Beth El Beit Midrash

Join us for the winter term of Congregation Beth El’s Beit Midrash! Thursday evenings our halls buzz with discussions, study and creativity by those seeking to take another step in their Jewish journey, either for serious learning or just to have some fun! There will be opportunities to study Judaism through holidays, the mind-body connection, arts and culture, social justice, theology, and traditional texts. This program is free and open to the public! No previous experience necessary! Rides are available for those who need.

This multi-part series will explore different values related to raising a family of mensches. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle, we invite you to join us as we study, discuss, & share.

February 9 - Talking to Your Kids About Interfaith Dating: For Those Married to Jews or In Interfaith Marriages

After last year’s success of the “Muppets Take Purim!” we are excited to write our very own Purim Shpiel Script! Please email Gail Swedroe at gswedroe@bethelnj.org if you are interested in creating a fun-for-the-whole family play inspired by the story of Esther, Mordechai and Haman.

Are you interested in acting in this year’s play? Please email gswedroe@bethelnj.org by January 15. You must be available to rehearse from 7:00-8:00pm on Thursday nights February 9 - March 1 and available to perform on Wednesday evening March 7 from 6-6:30.

Have you wanted to learn how to chant Torah but not known where to turn? Whether you’ve never chanted before or it’s been a while since you last read, join us for this fun class. Basic Hebrew reading knowledge required.
