Set in Poland in the mid 60’s, Helina, a struggling single mother, works to provide for her twelve and fifteen-year old sons. When she discovers that her streetwise, fatherless boys have joined a neo Nazi gang, she decides to tell them the truth: she is a Jew who survived the Holocaust and raised them in the Catholic faith. To escape the dangers they face, Helena informs them that they are moving to Australia, while in truth, they are immigrating to Israel. My Australia explores the struggles of finding one’s identity, while building a new life in a foreign land.
