The Maplewood/South Orange Professionals in Transition meetings will continue during the month of April, despite the construction work at the Main Library. During April, both our April 9th and April 23rd sessions will be held at the DeHart Community Center, 120 Burnet Avenue in Maplewood.
On Monday April 9th, Career Search Counselor, John West Hadley will be presenting an entirely new webinar program entitled “What's Blocking Your Search?” John will identify the common items that often impede the search of job seekers and he will provide guidance on how to work through them. John has graciously spoken to us on several occasions, and we appreciate his time, energy, and knowledge!
John Hadley teaches job seekers internationally strategies and skills that enable them to tap into the 'hidden' job market and find the best jobs now. He also works with professionals struggling to achieve the visibility that leads to great new opportunities at work or in the market.
John Hadley was a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in the financial services industry for 25 years. He began his career at Equitable Life, ultimately serving as Disability Income Product Manager. Commercial Life brought John in to build a new department, where he progressed to Chief Actuary. He then opened a successful consulting practice helping companies make their systems operate as advertised, which generated over $1.5 million in revenues.
John continues to be active in the community and the corporate sector. He has served on many community and industry initiatives, is a sought-after speaker on career and marketing issues, contributes regularly to a variety of publications as well as his own Career Tips newsletter, read by over 9,000 professionals internationally. He conducts a wide variety of tele-classes, webcasts, and seminars. He has a BS in Mathematics from Stanford University, where he also satisfied the requirements for an Economics major. Save the date: Currently, Monday April 23rd is scheduled as a session for open networking and group discussion. Our March 26th session allowed for 2 excellent hours of general sharing that was valuable to all in attendance.
