The play is the first Seton Hall Theatre production of the school year and is directed by Dr. James P. McGlone, a professor in the Department of Communication and The Arts who will be retiring at the end of the academic year.

One of the greatest tragedies ever written William Shakespeare's King Lear is the story of an aging, headstrong old monarch who is blind to his weaknesses. He decides to divide his kingdom amongst his three daughters according to which one recites the best declaration of love to him. Goneril and Regan, the selfish daughters of Lear who only pretend to love him, are awarded the prized kingdom while Cordelia, the loyal and unselfish daughter, is disowned by King Lear after he confuses her honesty with insolence. This rash decision leads to his tragic end.
