Every year individuals that either work or live in South Orange and Maplewood volunteer, contribute, donate to, and/or bake for the over 200 organizations just in our two towns let alone the others outside of town.  The Rotary Club of South Orange searches to honor those individuals who have volunteered above and beyond the service of their offices or businesses.  We understand what it takes to be committed to something other than work and want to acknowledge you for your contribution to our community.  This is your opportunity to contribute and honor the individuals that we have discovered this year.  Susan Rinaldi, Manager of the Maplewood Theater supports the Women's Club, the South Mountain YMCA, the Children's Emergency Medical Fund and the Jersey Animal Coalition through her tricky tray events and her use of her popcorn to feed volunteers when they work.  Irene Hunt and Ernestine Hunt Lizardi, the twins who have worked tirelessly with the church Ministries and Tele-Height Organization, Irene's Democratic District #11 leadership and they sing at various township functions.  Dr. Janine P. She can be seen everywhere from SOPAC to Spa Lady to Village Hall.  Bruce Levitt and Shelley Slafkes both lawyers, Bruce is on the Board of the South Mountain YMCA and the Interfaith Hospitality Network. Shelley has served on the Board of Education, Family Connections and the Columbia High School Education Fund and is currently serving on the SO/M Community Collation on Race and the is co-chair of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Observance and Volunteer Fair, where the South Orange Rotary will be sponsoring a Blood Drive with the support of the Maplewood Rotary Club, the Interact/Leaders Club of M/SO a collaboration of teens from the YMCA and Rotary and the Seton Hall Rotaract Club on January 21 from 9:30-2 pm.
