The Montclair Museum’s Young Curators Program Exhibition

The Pierro Gallery presents the work of professional artists in an outstanding exhibition, chosen and organized by high school junior and seniors of the Young Curators Program of the Montclair Art Museum. This year’s exhibition themes are entitled Qualms, Oddities and WAKE UP, each featuring the work of professional artists that have been hand-selected by the students of the Young Curators Program.The opening reception will be on Thursday, April 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a gallery talk will take place on Saturday, May 11 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

The Montclair Art Museum's Young Curators program is an intensive 7 month excursion into the business of curating for high school juniors and seniors.  Through museum and studio visits coordinated by independent curator, Asha Ganpat, participating students discover their own voices and bring art together using audio tours, programs, and gallery exhibitions.  The group has been divided into three curatorial teams, each having developed an exhibition theme for which they will be selecting artists through an open call. All aspects of the exhibition are being administered by the Young Curators.
