WHY: On this, the 10th year anniversary of the invasion of Iraq (March 19th, 2003) New Jersey Peace Action is concerned about the U.S. continued commitment to war in Afghanistan, the on-going conflicts in Iraq and the threats of war against Iran, Syria, and Mali. It is important to understand how all these conflicts are inter-related and what the peace movement can do to challenge and change U.S. foreign policy. The Annual Dinner provides an opportunity to learn important and relevant information underlying U.S. involvement in multiple wars - the rationale, the real motivating factors and possible actions to change and redirect foreign policy. Additionally, numerous national and regional organizations have designated April as a National Month of Action Against Drones -- and this event is part of that effort.
