Marshall Crenshaw created an incredible new chapter in his career last year with the release of his 429 Records debut Jaggedland.   Born in Detroit, Michigan, Crenshaw began playing guitar at age ten and he received his first break playing John Lennon in the off-Broadway company of Beatlemania. In 1987, he played Buddy Holly in the Richie Valens biopic "La Bamba." "He writes songs that are melodic, hooky and emotionally true, and he sings and plays them with an honesty and force that still finds room for humor without venom."  Joining Marshall will be Outpost favorite Willie Nile who, since his last Outpost visit in May of 2008, has twice played with the E-Street Band, joining Springsteen on stage at (the old) Giant Stadium September 30, 2009 and again at HSBC Arena in Willie’s home town of Buffalo, NY., November 22, 2009. He has also recorded and performed with Ringo Starr, Tori Amos, Elvis Costello, Lucinda Williams, Ian Hunter, and Barenaked Ladies. Of his 2006 release, Streets of New York, former Time magazine music critic and Academy Award winning screenwriter Jay Cocks wrote "The tunes he writes and plays with such blowtorch vibrancy get the myth and magic and danger and sadness and love in this town -- of this town -- truer, and righter, than anything I've heard since Dion… It's rock and roll at its best. It's New York at its best. And there's nothing better than that."
