Tormas are decorative figures, traditionally made of barley flour and butter, used as special food offerings for Sutric or Tantric rituals. They are made in specific shapes, usually conical, based on their purpose. Tormas can be placed on shrines for ceremonies such as empowerments, chanted prayers, or to represent particular deities or Dharma protectors. Others are made to receive attainments or to remove obstacles. Tormas are a creative expression of gratitude for receiving dharma and allow the creator to make a magical connection with enlightened beings. In this 2-hour hands-on workshop, we will use Marzipan (almond paste) to make empowering, offering, and obstacle dispelling tormas There are only 12 openings for this workshop. Please RSVP by January 7.
