The Strollers will next present THE SWEETEST SWING IN BASEBALL, a dark comedy by Rebecca Gilman. When an artist suffers a personal crisis and lands in a mental ward, she is coached by fellow patients on how to fool the doctors into extending her stay by pretending she thinks she’s troubled baseball player Darryl Strawberry.
The run will include an exhibit by local artists and a reception at 6:00 PM on opening night, January 28th. The reception is free and open to the public, however tickets are required to see the performance.
Performances are Fridays & Saturdays, January 28th & 29th and February 4th & 5th at 8:00 PM, and Sunday, January 30th at 2:00 PM at the Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts, 10 Durand Road in Maplewood. Tickets are $16 ($13 for seniors and students); general seating.
THE SWEETEST SWING IN BASEBALL is directed by Norman Metz, produced by Patricia Hibbits, and stage managed by Kate McNally and features Dena Daniel, Sarah Pharaon, Jeff Taylor, Tracey Randinelli, Cynthia Ross, Brad Harris, Tom McNally, Sandra Eismann, and John Mendlovitz.
