Jewish Family Service of MetroWest, the Livingston Municipal Alliance Committee and the Livingston Public Schools present a screening of Race to Nowhere: The Dark Side of America’s Achievement Culture on Tuesday, February 15 at 7 p.m. at Livingston High School (snow date February 17). The documentary has sparked numerous conversations about the education system and this free screening is open to parents and children grades six and up and the general public.

Race to Nowhere is an award-winning documentary by a mother turned filmmaker and it explores the effects of a high stakes, high pressure culture on today’s children. The film has served as a call to action for families, students, educators, experts and policy makers to examine current assumptions about how best to prepare the youth of America to become healthy, contributing citizens in the 21st Century. A dialogue will immediately follow the screening with a panel of educators sharing their reactions and answering questions.

The event is cosponsored by the Livingston PT Council, Livingston Education Foundation and Healthy Community Healthy Youth.
