Three of the original members of the Tristan Piano Quartet (Mr. Dugan, Mr. Nilles and Ms. Kim) first met in 2003 at the Perlman Music Program’s Summer Music School where they began to grow their love and passion for chamber music and have been playing with Ms.Lee since 2007. Since then, they have been working as a new emerging ensemble to bring variety and excellence in chamber music performance and study. They are also committed to education, connecting with diverse audiences and sharing music with those who are less fortunate.

The Tristan Piano Quartet currently coaching with Vivian Weilerstein has also worked with Roger Tapping, the former violist of the Takacs Quartet. They each have collaborated and worked with the members of the Juilliard String Quartet, The Cavani String Quartet along with renowned artists such as Itzhak Perlman, Paul Katz, Donald Weilersten and Robert Mann, performing in venues including Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Orchestra Hall in Chicago, The Walt Disney concert Hall and Alice Tully Hall. The Tristan Piano Quartet members have attended festivals such as Banff summer music program, Kneisel Hall, Verbier Music Festival and the Perlman Music Program’s Chamber Music Workshop.

Currently attending the Juilliard School under scholarship, Ms. Lee studies with Kyung-Wha Chung, Mr.Nilles with Heidi Castelman and Misha Amory, Ms.Kim with Joel Krosnick and Mr.Dugan studies with Matti Raekallio.
