When: May 7, 2011
Time: 8:00pm–10:00pm

The Maplewood Glee Club has scheduled its spring concert for Saturday, May 7 at 8 p.m.  The group, now in its sixty-fifth year, has chosen the theme Timeless Trilogies for this concert, featuring classic songs of knighthood, renaissance, remembrance – and even Broadway.

Appearing with the club will be the winner of this year’s John A. Plumer Memorial Scholarship, Timothy Laciano of New Providence High School.  Tim is an honor student as well as an accomplished pianist, oboist and composer.  He will perform on the piano and also will conduct a group performing of one of his own compositions.

In addition, the doo-wop group Nostalgia will present classic songs representing the three main genres of the 1960’s – Rock & Roll, the British Invasion, and the Protest era.

The concert will be conducted by our director, Candace Wicke, who is also president and principal conductor of the Continuo Arts Foundation in Westfield.  Pianist/composer John Conte will return as our accompanist.

The performance will take place at the Prospect Presbyterian Church, 646 Prospect Street, Maplewood.  Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door: $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors.
