As part of the fall film series called "The Absurdity of War" the South Orange Public Library will show “Dr. Strangelove and How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb” at 7 p.m.on November 29th.
Free and open to the public and refreshments will be served.
Our community comes together to provide a hot Thanksgiving meal to people in Irvington on November 24.
Community Congregational Church in Short Hills is partnering with the First Congregational Church in
Irvington to serve a hot Thanksgiving meal to 350+ people.
Servers are needed! People and families are invited
to participate by serving the meal on Thanksgiving. The meal will be served at the Irvington Church and 3 satellite locations in Irvington, located less than 5 minutes from the church (a park, homeless shelter and community center),
beginning at 12 noon. We will finish serving by 1pm and clean up should take less than 30 minutes, making our departure from Irvington no later than 1:30pm.
Families with Children: Being a part of our Thanksgiving Meal is a great way for families with children to serve others side-by-side! Children are welcome to attend with their parents and will "shadow" their parents during the serving.
If you would like to make a monetary donation, please make all checks payable to Community Congregational Church, marked "Soup Kitchen."

Bring the entire family for this afternoon of free Kwanzaa activities, from 12:00pm-5:00pm, including hands-on workshops (for adults and children) in African dance and music, storytelling, Capoeira, drumming and more. These workshops give families the opportunity to learn more about the Kwanzaa holiday and the African Diaspora. There will also be a Children's Book Fair, an Arts and Crafts Village featuring face painting, hands-on activities such as spirit masks, sekere crafting, Kwanzaa wish scrolls, and more.
Activities take place at NJPAC and next door at the Center for Arts Education, 24 Rector Street.

Ken then served as Law Clerk to The Honorable Marvin Jones of the United States Claims Court in Washington, D.C. Thereafter, he joined The Bendix Corporation/Allied-Signal Inc. (now Honeywell International, Inc.), serving as Assistant General Counsel. He then joined the law firm of Deutch & Associates. Since 2010, Ken has maintained a private law practice in Livingston, New Jersey.

1978 Maplewood Arts Center Presents BANG VI: A Small Artworks Exhibition and Sale
1978 Maplewood Arts Center in Maplewood, New Jersey, is pleased to present the 6th Annual Buy Art Now Guys! (BANG VI) an exhibition featuring small scale original artwork by over 40 local and regional artists. The exhibition will be open on December 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th from 11 AM to 5 PM each day. Many of the artists will be present during the exhibit to meet the public and answer questions about their artwork.
The artwork featured in BANG VI will include paintings, photographs, sculptures, prints, ceramics, jewelry, notecards, drawings and more. All artwork for this exhibit is affordably priced for giving and for collecting.
A member's preview for Friends of 1978 will be held on Friday, December 2nd from 7 - 9 PM. Anyone interested in becoming a Friend of 1978 is welcome to attend this event. Build n' Blocks is holding its annual Lego building camp for all grades and building levels. Our Holiday camps are for boys and girls that enjoy hands on activities. We utilize Lego's, Knex, Super Struts. Students will learn animation, robotics, movie making,etc all the while having fun. Our camps build critical math and science skills. Our camp is limited to a small group of children so please register early as space is limited.
